Unnatural History Museum of Singapore
Unnatural History Museum of Singapore
How did a nation without natural resources go from third-world to first in just 60 years? To celebrate Singapore’s ‘unnatural’ progress, we created the world’s only Unnatural History Museum for Singapore Design Week SG60. In place of the usual fauna, flora and habitat dioramas, unexpected exhibits included unnatural creatures like cyborg cockroaches for search-and-rescue and mosquitoes that fight dengue, as well as unnatural resources like drinkable water derived from sewage, and more. Collectively, they spotlighted the ingenuity that has enabled Singapore to thrive despite its constraints.
