Type with Pride

In 2017, Gilbert Baker, the creator of the rainbow flag sadly passed away. NewFest – New York’s LGBT Film & Media Art Organisation – and NYC Pride honoured his memory with 'Gilbert' – a font inspired by the iconic flag. Made free via download, it quickly became a powerful tool for the global LGBTQ community to create posters and signs. Politicians and supporters around the world embraced the font as a new tool to express pride.
