Ash to Art
Ash to Art
In May 2014, The Glasgow School of Art was devastated by fire. It was one of the UK’s most iconic buildings and home to a renowned art school. To raise funds for a restoration, worthless fire debris was sent to world-famous artists so they could create works of art for an exhibition and subsequent auction at Christie's. In three days, 10,000 visitors attended the show, while £706,438 was raised to rebuild the institution.
