Thoughts & Prayers
Thoughts & Prayers
March For Our Lives created national buzz around Congressional inaction on gun violence and pushed Washington to finally pass gun control legislation. The words 'thoughts and prayers' were spelled out with 1,100 body bags, representing over 170,000 lives that have been lost since the Parkland shooting. The body bags were laid out across the National Mall lawn in front of Congress, taking three football fields' worth of space on the lawn – leaving Congress no choice but to see the deadly impact of their empty words. That day, founder David Hogg was invited to the White House and finally saw the action that was being demanded.
