Facebook Skate Nation Ghana

Skate Nation Ghana celebrated the debut of skateboarding at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The film zeroed in on Ghana’s rising skateboarding scene, and showed how Joshua Odamtten and Sandy Alibo have used Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook to build a community and culture, which now influences skaters around the world. Editor Paul Watts worked with over 70 hours of footage captured by three directors and multiple units on the ground in Ghana, from camcorder clips and cinematic shots to photographs and snippets of Facebook's interface, worked into a fast-paced edit that follows the story of Ghana's skate culture.
