Clipse | Chains & Whips
Clipse | Chains & Whips
Eight identical babies sit in a line, spaced apart, frozen. At each sound, they move, then freeze again, like notes in a score. Time stretches and slips through a slit-scan effect. Fragments of America appear: an elderly woman plays guitar; mothers in a prison parlor; beauty queen contestants; deals made on the streets; a church community gathered for a funeral; a family posed before an American flag; strippers and hustlers. Faces and bodies elongate as time pulls them apart. A fractured fresco of American history, where past and present bleed into the same frame.
