Butterfly - The Art of Table Tennis - A Tribute to Timo Boll

After 30 years at the top, Timo Boll retired as Europe's greatest table tennis player. His longtime partner Butterfly wanted to honor him in a special way. A Berlin-based artist hand-carved eight of Boll's original rackets, each depicting a defining career moment through linocut technique. These became printing plates for fine art prints, which were presented to Timo after his final match. The hand-printed motifs were scanned and used at 1:1 scale for print ads, a poster, and a brochure. An exhibition during Berlin Art Week turned a personal tribute into a public celebration.
