Writing Lights the Way

Write for Rights is Amnesty’s annual letter-writing marathon. It encourages the public to write letters of support for individuals and causes where human rights have been violated. This year’s campaign features illustrations of characters in shadowed and hostile environments. But they’re holding letters, revealing beacons of hope shaped in the tip of a pencil, reminding us that writing letters can literally save lives. The three illustrations are inspired by real victims of injustice: Ahmed Mansoor, Justyna Wydrzyńska and the Wet'suwet'en community.
