Sun Warning Flag

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people die worldwide by drowning. But far more dangerous is skin cancer caused by the sun, which leads to 8x the number of drowning-related deaths. On the beach, there are warning flags for all dangers – but not for the deadliest of all. That’s why Heimat Werbeagentur invented the Sun Warning Flag, which warns people when UV radiation reaches a critical level. German Cancer Aid joined forces with leading organisations to establish the new beach warning system, which had an enormous impact. The flag was officially listed in beach flag compilations and has been submitted to the International Organization for Standardization for rollout worldwide.
