Volvo EX60

To launch a car that heralds the end of range anxiety, Volvo designed a stage that made its promise of freedom impossible to ignore. Broadcast live from Stockholm's Artipelag Art Gallery, its launch was built around a single visual idea: the illusion of perpetual motion. Through the perfect, live synchronisation of three elements – a 26-metre screen, robotic turntables, and custom-engineered spinning rims – the stationary car was made to appear as if in constant motion. The stage, as much a piece of kinetic art as a set build, elegantly expressed the car's defining promise instantly.
