The Real-time Art Catalogue

‘Laboratory’ was an experimental exhibition at the Jerwood Space in London, in which three artists built a show from scratch in real time. We built the catalogue in exactly the same way. The artists’ every move was documented in real time on a specially programmed blog, which also automatically drew in related content from external sites like Twitter and Flickr. Every day, all the new posts were printed and added to the catalogues, which were on display in the gallery, so visitors could see them growing as the show grew, in real time.
