The Netherlands Goes Dark
How do you prepare 18 million people for a crisis without… causing one? You don't announce it. You make the country need it. On November 17, 2025, we introduced The Netherlands Goes Dark. Dozens of partners simultaneously announced their own symbolic disappearance: railways, over 400 supermarkets, banks, schools, cities. Everywhere people turned, the services they rely on were gone. Days later, the booklet arrived on 8.5 million doormats. Not cold. Not ignored. Wanted. We didn't tell the Netherlands to prepare. We made them feel what it means not to be prepared.
