The Last Column
The Last Column
The Last Column is a memorial movement bringing attention to the human cost of journalism, centered around a book featuring the final works of more than 20 murdered journalists. Its cover is made of the names of the 1,337 journalists killed in action, leaving a white space to represent the emptiness left behind by their deaths—a reminder of the many columns that will never be written. The names, typed in a classic typewriter font to celebrate their profession, are debossed in the book’s jacket.
