The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ
The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ
In ‘The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ’, Philip Pullman takes the accepted story of the Son of God and reinterprets it, so that Jesus Christ is split into two separate characters: Jesus (a good man) and his twin brother, Christ (a scoundrel). To echo this idea, the book was produced in good and scoundrel editions. Just as the book subverts the existing story, the design takes the typefaces, bookmarks and gold foil usually associated with the Bible and employs them in a new way.
