Drawings from the Gulag
Drawings from the Gulag
‘Drawings from the Gulag’ consists of material discovered in Russia by the designers. It is a definitive example of designers expanding their role to include the editing, research and design of content to produce a serious graphic novel. The material contained in the book is of great historical value, being the only known drawn history of the Gulag system, told from the perspective of a prison guard. The publication has been recognised as historically accurate by both the Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies in the Netherlands, and the Centre of History and New Media, George Mason University, Virginia.
