Uber was the first company on the ground in Ukraine when the full-scale war broke out, partnering with NGOs, moving people to safety, and transporting food, medicine, and cultural artefacts. So when Ukraine began to fade from the news cycle, Uber gave its platform to Ukrainian drivers for them to tell their story on their terms. Everything drove people towards donating to life-saving ambulances, with Uber matching donations. Over $8.5 million was raised, but the process to get there was a true testament to the bravery and work ethic of the Ukrainian teams that made it possible.
