Defining a Mission for the Future of Penguin Random House UK
Penguin Random House UK needed to reconcile historical differences between the two previously competing, now merged companies by clarifying a shared spirit and activating it across the business. After months of collaboration, DesignStudio defined a new mission statement – “We make books for everyone, because a book can change anyone" – supported by a set of guiding principles. These went on to inform business decisions, recruitment policies, responsible strategy, publishing decisions, website editorial, campaigns and events, all focused on the change the mission inspires.
