Each year, hundreds of thousands of Australian homes are destroyed or damaged by extreme weather. In fact, by 2035, around 1 in 10 homes are projected to become uninsurable to extreme weather caused by climate change . To break the cycle, in 2019, Suncorp Insurance shifted its long-term strategy from one of supporting ‘recovery’ to one of enabling ‘resilience’. This led to a programme of communication, brand acts, policy advocacy and industry-leading products that are shaping the insurance landscape in Australia and proving that resilience is the most valuable thing an insurer can offer.
