Athens Epidaurus Festival

The 2023 Athens & Epidaurus Festival explored the theme of freedom. We created a lingua franca using a neutral black and white palette and three archetypal symbols that represent freedom, flow, and rhythm: the swallow, the spring, and the heart. Rendered in marble, these symbols acquire a materiality and gravitas, connecting the enduring values of ancient Greek civilisation with contemporary culture. As in ancient Greek theatre, the campaign was designed to amplify public debate, elicit emotional catharsis, and encourage freedom of expression.
