Unipads created a unique that debunked age-old prejudices surrounding women who cook food during their periods. A specially curated menu of taboo dishes were cooked and served by women on their periods, who were recruited through newspaper ads and community radio. Politicians, restaurant owners, change-makers, and community leaders were invited to eat the dishes and become a part of a movement known as Adeli. It was covered by the news media on International Women’s Day, and five different NGOs also gave their support.
