A Century of Sporty Types

Most athletes dream of seeing their names in the papers. But when Bragdguldet – Sweden’s most prestigious sports award, founded by newspaper Svenska Dagbladet – turned 100, the Swedish postal service PostNord chose a different stage. Five athletes who have won the award twice were honored, not in bronze, but on something both everyday and unexpected: the postage stamp. To unite the worlds of sports and journalism, each athlete was portrayed using nothing but letters taken from the newspaper announcing their victories, turning the design into a journey through decades of typographic history.
