Chief Creative Officer for BBDO North America, Luiz Sanches took on his new role after 28 years out of his 31 in the field, helping make AlmapBBDO a hallmark for efficacy and creativity in Brazil and across the world. Originally an art director, he became one of the agency’s partners in 2013 and is on BBDO’s international board. He is also an active member of the One Club for Creativity board, as well as Google’s creative board. Over the course of his career, he has received more awards than any other Brazilian creative, including 191 Lions at the Cannes Festival, 71 Pencils at D&AD and 137 awards at the One Show. Luiz was recognized as the best-performing creative director by the Gunn Report, as well as twice at Cannes. 

He also makes a point of the agency’s taking an intimate approach, always being close to its clients. All these factors together represent the great differential behind the work that helped Almap along the way to topping the Gunn Report’s ranking four times, as well as becoming a four-time Agency of the Year at the Cannes Festival of Creativity (2000, 2010, 2011 and 2016), and #1 Global Agency of the Decade in 2020.
