D&AD Shift is a free, award-winning, industry-led night school that helps those without a university background to enter the creative industries.

Across six cities, Shift has launched hundreds of careers. Shifters go on to write for Apple and design for Disney, create content for Adobe and co-design adverts with Delta. They win Pencils and sit on the board at D&AD.

Why Shift?

The mission

Creativity happens when different voices are in the room – diverse talent brings new ideas, unexpected angles, and stories that actually connect. Shift aims to shake up the industry to bring self-taught creative talent to the table.

Shifting the industry

Since 2016, Shift has trained over 380 creatives in five countries, with an average of 75% going on to creative jobs and placements.

Shift Select

Shift Select is an additional month of on-the-job training with agency partners like Pearlfisher, Anomaly, Hope & Glory, Lewis Morbley, Design Bridge & Partners, MOX, and Huge.

Shift Studio

Shift Studio curates Shift alumni to bring a rich mix of talent to brands and agencies like Delta Airlines, Disney, HSBC, Adobe, giffgaff, and Google.
