Google Project Relate

250 million people around the world with non-standard speech find it difficult to communicate. Unfortunately, standard speech recognition models don’t work well for people with non-standard speech. Each person’s speech patterns are different, making it tough for algorithms to interpret them. Following years of research, Project Relate was created. The app is custom-trained to unique speech patterns of people with non-standard speech, helping them be better understood on a daily basis and making speech recognition technology, like Google Assistant, more accessible to everyone.
