Project Guideline

Project Guideline is a research project that was created in partnership with Guiding Eyes for the Blind and its President, CEO Thomas Panek. It is an early-stage technology that leverages on-device machine learning to allow Thomas to use a mobile phone, headphones, and a guideline painted on the ground to independently walk and run for exercise. It runs locally on the phone without an internet connection. With Project Guideline, Google is exploring how the technology most folks already have in their pockets can make the world more accessible.
