Newspaper Typeface Family
Newspaper Typeface Family
The Straits Times appointed Lucie Lacava to create a full redesign of the publication for its 170th anniversary. She commissioned Giasson to create a type family to help define The Straits Times’ new visual identity, and to support the typographic needs specific to a cross-media 21st century publication. The family was modulated over a broad range of fonts instances required to work in all contexts, from the main news section to the weekend magazine supplement, both at headlines and text settings, in print, online, and mobile devices, while still retaining a consistent typographic flavour.
