Samuel Beckett: Complete Works

Each cover design features a custom-made type treatment printed in a minimal palette of two or three colours. A bespoke type family – A2 Beckett – consisting of five weights, designed by A2/SW/HK, is used to ensure each cover has an individual character but is still clearly identifiable as part of a larger collection. A neutral grey background has been chosen as a counterpoint to the Pantone colours selected for each of the 18 titles. This choice is also a playful reference to Samuel Beckett’s directive that his gravestone be ‘any colour, so long as it’s grey’.
