Stand Up! Turn Around! Take that Bow!

Cover for Beautiful People by Jessie Ware. Ware says "As a mother of three, who also works insanely hard, clubbing isn’t on the agenda every week." This [song] was my way of transporting myself to that place." Inspired by this, my artwork transforms a mundane item—a bottle cap (perhaps from Calpol, tied to her role as a mother)—into instructions for dancing in the club, designed in the style of a parental safety cap infographic. The instructions reference the lyric “Stand up! Turn around! Take that bow!” from the bridge. Printed in bold red and blue risograph, the artwork represents the song’s bright, retro energy.
