GIFgaff is an initiative that brings sustainability to our digital habits. As more people opt for refurbished products due to their eco-friendly nature, we realized that our use of GIFs often doesn’t follow the same logic. GIFs are fun but data-heavy and contribute to digital pollution. So, giffgaff decided to refurbish them. By reducing the number of frames in the most popular GIFs, they created an exclusive collection of "eco-friendly" GIFs—lighter in data but just as expressive. These GIFs will be included in giffgaff’s refurbished products and easily accessible through a dedicated extension for iOS and Android, as well as on social media. It’s a step toward a more sustainable digital future, showing that even the smallest digital changes can have a big impact.
