Vaseline See My Skin

Less than 6% of search results show skin conditions on people of colour. And when Black and Hispanic people don’t feel seen in search results, they’re less likely to be seen by a dermatologist, leading to 25% higher mortality rates for conditions like skin cancer. See My Skin is the only database designed to search conditions on people of colour. Thousands of images of Black and Brown skin were aggregated, and each one was evaluated by certified dermatologists, to build the world’s most diverse medical image library. Most of all, it addressed the long-standing bias and exclusion of people of colour in skin care.
