TVNZ, New Zealand’s largest broadcaster, needed to reposition its online offering to take on the big dogs like Netflix and Amazon. Once seen as an on-demand service, TVNZ+ is now a free premium digital streaming destination with thousands of world-class movies, shows, and documentaries. It was an underdog story for the ages. By playing with category tropes, stealing big-budget Hollywood clichés, and drawing on some of that unique Kiwi humour, Dentsu repositioned TVNZ+ as New Zealand’s favourite streaming platform, helping it to steal the show.
