The Forgotten Team

Meo's campaign Forgotten Team paid tribute to the workers who lost their lives for the football World Cup. The team created a memorable jersey inspired by the workers' vests with Article 4 of the Human Rights Act on the back. The jersey was shamefully banned by football authorities during Portugal's last game. Meo, a long time sponsor of the national team and Portugal’s top broadcaster, refused to be silenced. The censored jersey was displayed everywhere – from store employees to migrant ambassadors to hacks on FIFA. It became a symbol of bravery and virtue embraced by an entire country.
