Order to Chaos

The architect Bates Smart and PMP, a media production and magazine distribution company, requested a three-dimensional, textural, dramatically up-lit installation, located in a double-height office reception space. An abstract work that refers to the activities of the business, the object is designed as a feature and a focal point in the area. Of the schemes proposed, the more abstract option was preferred. It makes reference to streams of digital information and the notion of a performance indicator. Fragments of the three-dimensional piece are inserted into various spaces throughout the work place. The negative waste sheet material that remained after the positive elements were cut out and used in primary locations as well as alternative installations.
