Denz

During an initiative to reposition Denz, Switzerland's leading office furniture manufacturer, designrichtung was commissioned to design a showroom that would firstly provide a platform for specialist traders and a workspace for employees, and secondly, be a centre of attraction for events. The showroom was designed to highlight and complement the firm's new corporate image by taking an unconventional approach to combining diverse elements such as glamour and comfort. The rooms begin with a presentation of new products against the backdrop of a sparkling sequined wall. The 'parlour', a simple cube in the centre of the room fitted with rough-cut Swiss stone pine, emanates an earthy cosiness. Between these two fixed points, the remaining space can be flexibly divided between areas for work and presentations of products. The design of the showroom is based on playing with opposites, the element of surprise, but mostly with authenticity and emotion.
