Millions of Americans send money to loved ones abroad every year, costing $12 billion in fees that could go to schooling, medicine or rent. To show how sending money across borders doesn’t have to be costly or take forever, Coinbase created a film that follows a young man sending remittances to his grandmother in Puebla, Mexico, depicted by Mexican filmmaker Gawx and his actual grandmother, Yuyi. The creative launched in English and Spanish during the Copa America Football Tournament and International Day of Family Remittances.
