Hirate Kindergarten

The signage for the renewed Hirate Kindergarten was designed to harmoniously blend in with the overall architecture and enrich the spatial experience. The new building for this 60-year-old kindergarten is made entirely of brick, reflecting the history and culture of Aichi Prefecture as well as epitomizing the kindergarten's concept of “experiencing and embodying authenticity”. Using the same bricks and designing as though they extrude from the wall, we were able to integrate the signs with the building. The letters are carved directly into the bricks, creating a natural, understated presence.
