After a recession men are almost twice as likely to be rehired than women. So Women in Film hijacked Hollywood’s favorite promotion tactic by creating a For Your Consideration campaign, taking what Hollywood uses to promote movies for awards and using it to ensure that when studios are hiring, they’ll consider hiring a woman. Saatchi & Saatchi New York created For Your Consideration ads for over 30 female film professionals, using recommendations from celebrities they’d worked with. The campaign mobilised studios, networks and advertisers to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to make sure women are hired.
