Flowers is a stunning seven-minute short film that reimagines what a Black fairy tale could be. With an afro-futuristic twist, the captivating story of love and family follows a young man who is given a heavy crown by his mother at a ceremony where she gives away her youngest son. However, this gift comes with a price and a mission that will take him on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Redefining Black masculinity, Flowers draws on classic Disney stories from the 1930s to the 1950s, and breathes new life into tropes by reimagining an entire genre.
