Fantastique Gustave Doré

Fantastique is the first retrospective book about the French engraving artist Gustave Doré. It presents his engraving techniques and a curated selection of his illustrations, caricatures and paintings, chosen from the 3,000 artworks Doré created during his life. The cover was designed around four of his iconic engravings, and aimed to offer a comprehensive view of his influences and visual signature in one page. The book is finished by 3D and blind embossing, three foils, print on page edges and more. By reflecting the finesse of his work, the book was treated like as a continuity of his art.
