From 1992 to 2007, David Knight was editor of PROMO magazine, the bible of the British music video industry and the most authoritative publication anywhere on its subject, covering thousands of videos and interviewing hundreds of directors about their work.
When PROMO closed he launched music video website Promo News, a daily source of new music video creativity and information which has proved immensely popular with the music video production industry and music video fans alike.
David is also chief curator of BUG – The Evolution Of Music Video, the hugely popular bi-monthly event at the BFI Southbank in London, showcasing exceptional music video creativity from all over the world.
He is also editorial director of the UK Music Video Awards, the awards show celebrating the art and craft of music video production in Britain and across the globe, which has grown in stature every year since its first annual event in 2008. He plays a similar role for MusicVidFest, a new conference all about music videos which launched in 2014.
And he has written about videos, commercials, film and music for numerous publications, including Music Week, Dazed & Confused and Creative Review, and is a regular contributor to shots magazine.
