For the first time ever, we are looking beyond client-briefed work and awarding the side hustlers, those hungry and thriving.
Selected shortlisted entrants will be invited to pitch live at D&AD Festival to a panel of successful creatives and investors.
Who can enter?
Anyone running a side hustle or a creative project whilst holding down full-time employment in the creative industry. These must be ‘independently owned’ and are defined as a business which is substantially owned by its founders and/or a group of independent investors.
Start-up or Scale-up
‘Start-up’ is for side hustlers that are in the early stages of their project, experimenting with customer division and can demonstrate appropriate research and testing with the potential to work towards a positive contribution margin.
‘Scale up’ is for entrants who have side hustles that are already validated as projects within the marketplace and have proven that their unit finances are sustainable.
What do you win?
Opportunity to put your side hustle in front of industry experts, potential collaborators and investors. A mentoring session from one of the Side Hustle Judges. Additionally, you can attend a Masterclass of your choice hosted in London at the D&AD HQs. If you 're not based in the UK, you'll be able to take one of our new courses on D&AD Digital Campus instead. Finally, receive global exposure from our media partners for additional project support, and your work listed in The D&AD Annual alongside all the winners from this year’s awards.
