Hello! I'm Makai (they/them/he/him), a Queer and Trans Asian American strategist who intentionally leads with empathy in their inclusive-forward cultural and community strategy work. The type of strategy I do and advocate for is 'for the people, by the people' because I strongly believe that people (our audiences) will specifically tell us what they want and need. Our job as strategists in the creative and tech industries is to listen intently in cultural and community conversations for the human truths and tensions as we are looking to understand what they actually want and need, versus what we think they want and need.
