Laura Baumeister was born in Nicaragua. Sociologist and filmmaker. Directed several short films between Mexico, Centroamérica and Germany. Her films have participated in festivals like the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, Rotterdam International Film Festival, Morelia International Film Festival, Stockholm Festival, Toulouse, among others. Her debut film Daughter of Rage had it world premiered in Toronto International Film Festival and it’s European premier in San Sebastián in New Directors, following more then 60 festivals after among several awards. Fer, her recent publicity campaign for Save the Children had a very successful round in festivals, including a Clio Grand Prix, multiple awards at El Ojo Iberoamericano, and a Bronze Lion at Cannes.
