Chinese Octave

Chinese Octave is based on the ancient Chinese system of classifying musical instruments by the materials used to make them. It contains gold (chime), stone (qin), silk (string), bamboo (xiao), pao (sheng), soil (ocarina), leather (drum) and wood (percussion). The shapes of the eight instrument types are abstracted into graphics, which are then combined into a new graphic that expresses classical rhythms.
