Our relationship with John Lewis & Partners started over 10 years ago. The agency had been around for less than a year when it pitched for and won the account. The foundation of the relationship from day one has been based on a shared belief that creativity and connecting with customers in an emotional way over time, will lead to love for the brand and in turn, sustained business growth.
The first seminal campaign we created ‘Always a Woman’, marked the start of our partnership and the shift towards emotive advertising to make audiences ‘cry and buy’. The public’s emotional reaction to the campaign was powerful and the extensive news commentary was often quite profound, centring on British aspirations and dreams, female empowerment and the lives people wanted for themselves and their loved ones. This was all a first for us and for the client, and provided a solid platform for us to forge an exceedingly strong client / agency relationship which has deepened over the years and led to over a decade of effective brand building communications and business growth.
