Nook Simple Touch
Graphite Pencil / Product Design / Consumer Product Design / 2012
Nook Simple Touch is designed to replicate the immersive reading experience of a paperback book. The device has a six-inch screen, surrounded by a black bezel, with just one obvious button. There’s no traditional touchscreen, instead the e-reader uses zForce technology to locate the position of the user’s finger above the screen. At only 7.48 ounces, the Nook is sleek but durable enough to fit in a jacket, pocket or purse. And its ergonomic, contoured design with rounded corners and soft-touch back makes it comfortable to read, even with just one hand, and for extended periods of time.
