The Woman Project

For 43 years, the mandatory wearing of the hijab has remained a legal requirement in Iran. Refusal to do so, continues to have severe consequences for the women brave enough to resist this clear violation of free expression. "The Woman Project" puts typography at the centre of a worldwide protest. On International Women's Day 2025, we flooded every public media channel, of the Iranian Guardian Council. E-mails and SoMe posts made sure that the word "woman" would be impossible to ignore.
