The commercial art industry is putting Vietnam and its people in a negative light. It leans on stereotypes to create art that sells to foreigners with preconceived notions of war, destruction, and oppression. These stereotypes have been perpetuated, hurting the country’s image and painting a target on its people for discrimination. TiredCity, an emerging art organisation, aims to break the industry’s uniformity, by promoting individual authenticity, empowering young artists to express Vietnamese stories through their own experiences, putting themselves and the country in a better light.
