The Forecast

Developed to fill a gap in Monocle's publishing schedule and respond to a hole they found on newsstands, the Forecast is an annual packed with key insights into the year ahead. Monocle commissioned a range of correspondents, business minds, historians, urbanists and diplomats to offer their views on everything from balance-shifting defence systems to fresh benchmarks in urban planning. Monocle wanted to create a product that would look and feel different to what's already being sold. The Forecast is designed to accompany readers for a few weeks or months on the road. Its bookish form is meant to slide comfortably onto office sideboards or bedside bookshelves for quick access throughout the rest of the year.
