Tharsis Sleeps

Patches play an important part in metal culture, and are used by fans to publicly display their affiliation to the subcultures and bands within it. Inspired by the metal sphere's ravenous love of embroidery, animators Nicos Livesey and Tom Bunker produced the world's first frame-by-frame embroidered music video. Painstakingly produced for Throne track Tharsis Sleeps, the process required industrial sewing machines, which pounded out an estimated 45 million stitches.
